Chris Jericho’s Former Partner Tipped To Join WWE: “Wouldn’t Shock Me At All”
A former stablemate of Chris Jericho in AEW heading to the WWE wouldn’t surprise a veteran. The star in discussion is Mike Santana.
Following his hustle on the indies for years, Mike Santana was signed to AEW during its inception year in 2019. He gained prominence by joining the Inner Circle faction led by Chris Jericho. Santana later broke away from the group and formed a tag team with Ortiz, and also feuded with Jericho at one point. However, after over four years in the company, Santana departed from Tony Khan’s promotion in 2024.
Mike Santana later joined TNA Wrestling, where he found immense success as a singles star. The 35-year-old star is the current TNA World Champion, and this is his second World title reign in the company. Meanwhile, there has been speculation that Santana could make it to WWE one day as well.
According to a recent report, WWE is highly interested in bringing Mike Santana into the company, and he has support from an active member of the roster for his work ethic and professionalism. Meanwhile, the wrestling veteran and current TNA star, Matt Hardy has reflected on the possibility of Santana joining the Stamford-based promotion.
Chris Jericho’s ex-stablemate joining the WWE wouldn’t shock a wrestling veteran at all
Amid all the rumors and speculations regarding Chris Jericho’s former Inner Circle stablemate, Mike Santana possibly joining the WWE, the wrestling veteran, Matt Hardy said that Santana heading to the Sports Entertainment Juggernaut wouldn’t surprise him, as his goal might be to have a WrestleMania main event.
Speaking on his Extreme Life podcast, Matt Hardy stated the following:
I mean that, that, that wouldn’t surprise me. I would guess that’s probably Mike Santana’s ultimate goal [is] to work for WWE. You know, most kids who grew up loving wrestling, their goal is to work for WWE at some point, have a WrestleMania moment, whatever else. That [him going to WWE] wouldn’t shock me at all.” [H/T f4wonline.com]

Mike Santana won the TNA World Championship for the second time in his career earlier this year, and he is currently focused on his title reign. Santana’s current deal with TNA is reportedly expected to be up sooner rather than later. Only time will tell if Chris Jericho’s former stablemate will be joining the WWE whenever his current contract expires.
