AJ Styles has expressed the desire to see a popular AEW star in the WWE. The star in discussion is The Aerial Assassin, Will Ospreay.

AJ Styles vs Will Ospreay is a dream match that fans have been asking for many years now. While the two have wrestled each other back in 2015 on an indie promotion, many fans want them to lock horns in a major promotion and on a bigger stage. Earlier this year at the Royal Rumble PLE, Styles wrestled his last match against Gunther. Many people wanted The Phenomenal One to have one last run in AEW, but he stayed with the Stamford-based promotion in a backstage role after being inducted into the Hall of Fame.

Earlier this year, the WWE Hall of Famer, Bully Ray pitched an idea of the match between AJ Styles and Will Ospreay at AEW All In London, if AJ joins All Elite Wrestling:

AEW is the perfect place for AJ Styles versus Will Ospreay with no story. It’s all about the match, the flips, the doohickeys and the dives. It’s the fantasy matchup of all fantasy matchups. And if there’s one thing that Tony is good at it’s delivering fantasy matchup to the AEW fan base. I don’t need a story. All I need is for AEW to come on the air one day and go, ‘Ladies and gentlemen, breaking news, at All In and Wembley Stadium. Will Ospreay takes on AJ Styles.’”

AJ Styles wants AEW star to join the WWE

Speaking on his Phenomenally Retro Podcast, AJ Styles said that he would love to the AEW star, have Will Ospreay in the WWE while highly praising him:

Will’s the man, dude. I would love to have him in WWE. He’s an amazing talent. I think he’s figured out a lot about himself, what he can do, what looks good, and what makes sense. The aggression, everything”

AJ Styles also admitted that he sometimes worries that Will Ospreay doesn’t hurt himself with his incredible stunts in the ring:

Sometimes I worry about him hurting himself because he’s b*lls to the wall, but I get it, man. You’ve got one gear. You’ve got to go with one gear until you retire, like me. I did it,” AJ stated. [H/T ITRWrestling]

Only time will tell if Will Ospreay ever joins the WWE and somehow brings AJ Styles out of retirement for their dream match.
