Chris Jericho Recalls Some Favorite Rivalries From His Wrestling Career
Chris Jericho mentioned some WWE and AEW feuds when looking back on his career.
For over 30 years, future WWE Hall of Famer Chris Jericho has had an incredible run in pro wrestling that doesn’t appear to be over.
At 55, Jericho is at an age when many wrestlers stop competing in the ring, but the wrestling legend is still making headlines in 2026, just as he has throughout his career.
Even though he appears to be under contract with AEW, the former AEW World Champion Jericho hasn’t been on AEW television since April 2025. In late 2025, there were rumors that Jericho would be going back to WWE in January 2026 at the Royal Rumble, but that didn’t happen.
While many people believe that Jericho is WWE-bound at some point this year, he remains part of the AEW roster page on the company website, and it’s not known exactly when his AEW deal may expire.
WWE And AEW Rivalries Help Make Up Some Of Chris Jericho’s Favorites From His Career
Chris Jericho’s wrestling future may still be full of question marks, but he has a long list of great matches and feuds from his runs in ECW, WCW, nearly 20 years in WWE, and about six years of work in AEW, too.
Speaking to Radio X, Jericho mentioned some of his legendary rivalries in WWE and a long one in AEW.
“Oh my gosh, I mean, it’s been 35 years, man, so there’s a lot of them.
“If you’re going WWE, the Shawn Michaels vs Chris Jericho feud from 2008 is one of the all-time great feuds for sure. I think Jericho vs Kevin Owens from 2016 was a great one.
“I think Jericho vs MJF from 2020 was a great one. The ones that are my favorite are the long builds that take six, seven, eight months. In order to go that long, it has to be something special, something magical.
“Those ones always stand out for me off the top of my head, because we had some time invested into it, and they did go the better part of a year.
“Actually, the MJF storyline was literally 366 days from beginning to end. That’s when you know when you have something good.”
In a recent interview looking back on his wrestling career, Jericho claimed he almost went with “Jack Action” as his ring name before settling on Chris Jericho. Currently, he’s on tour in the UK with his band Fozzy, focusing on his music.
