Triple H Didn’t Want Top WWE Star To Win The 2026 Royal Rumble For One Reason
Triple H didn’t want a top WWE star to win the 2026 Royal Rumble.
Bron Breakker has been on a meteoric rise ever since he made his NXT debut. He excelled in the black and silver brand and even won the NXT Championship.
Upon arriving on the main roster, Breakker continued to find success and even won the Intercontinental Championship. Last year, he aligned with Seth Rollins to form The Vision. It looked like WWE was getting ready to push him into the spotlight when Breakker turned on Rollins. Just when it looked like Breakker could end up winning the 2026 Royal Rumble and then main event WrestleMania 42. That didn’t end up happening. Instead, Bron Breakker has been put in a tag team with Austin Theory due to Logan Paul’s injury.
Why Triple H didn’t want Bron Breakker to win the 2026 Royal Rumble
During the latest season of WWE Unreal, Triple H revealed that the risk with Bron Breakker winning the Royal Rumble was whether he could handle the pressure that came with being a top star. The Game was also worried whether the fans would accept his push. Triple H expressed concern that he was shoving the former NXT Champion down the fans’ throats.
“The risk with Bron Breakker is everything from, can he actually do it? Can he mentally handle it? Will fans accept it? So you have to really be sure. You can make a shocking moment out of it, but I still worry a little bit that it just feels like you’re just shoving him down your throat. I think we just need to think about it a little.” [H/T WrestlePurists on X]
WWE passed on Bron Breakker winning the 2026 Royal Rumble Match out of concern fans would think he’d be shoved down their throats:

WWE should’ve taken the risk and pushed Bron Breakker to win the 2026 Royal Rumble match since he has more than proven that he can handle the pressure. This was also the right opportunity for the company to build a new main eventer.
