Latest Update On Chris Jericho’s Status Ahead Of WWE Royal Rumble
Only a couple of hours remain for the first premium live event of 2026 to get underway.
Former WWE Champion Chris Jericho is expected to be a star attraction at the men’s Royal Rumble event in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Neither World Wrestling Entertainment nor the 55-year-old veteran has released an official statement regarding his participation.
At the turn of the new year, multiple reports claimed that Jericho’s contract with AEW ended on December 31, 2025, making him a free agent.
Even before that happened, there was a buzz that he could potentially be WWE-bound.
Chris Jericho has had multiple stints in the Stamford promotion, with his final stint ending in 2018. He subsequently joined AEW in 2019, where he became a one-time World Champion.
His last appearance on TV was during the April 9 episode of Dynamite. In a non-wrestling segment, he confronted his ‘The Learning Tree’ stablemates, Big Bill and Bryan Keith. He then said that he would ‘leave’ until he saw some positive changes.
Chances Of Chris Jericho Appearing At WWE Royal Rumble Are Slim
Despite the excitement around Chris Jericho turning up at WWE Royal Rumble, the chances of him being in Riyadh are slim.
At the time of writing this, Jericho is still listed as an active talent on the roster page of the AEW website.
It is to be noted that the website is actively updated, considering Powerhouse Hobbs, who recently signed with WWE, has been removed from the company’s official website.
