There are more details about the injury that Charlotte Flair suffered and an update on surgery that will be required to fix it.

On the December 8th edition of WWE SmackDown, Charlotte Flair was injured during a singles match with Asuka. The injury occurred during the commercial break as Flair took a tumble off the top rope, she twisted her left knee and was limping badly after.

The December 15th Smackdown episode provided an update on Flair as the commentary team said that Flair will have surgery and miss at least nine months.

While WWE never specifically said that Flair has a torn ACL in her left knee, the nine-month timeline is usually what an athlete has to deal with when they suffer that kind of injury.

Since Flair will be out of action that also means she’ll miss some upcoming major WWE events like the Royal Rumble in January, WrestleMania 40 in April, and likely every event in the first half of 2024.

Details Emerge Regarding When Charlotte Flair Will Have Surgery

It has been reported by PWInsider’s Mike Johnson that Charlotte will undergo knee surgery in the weeks ahead. The surgery is being scheduled around the holidays, which is why it hasn’t happened yet. No specific date has been announced for the surgery.

A source informed PWInsider that the injury is “like worse than” just a torn ACL and that there is additional damage to the knee although they didn’t specify what that may be. The torn ACL is what was being discussed among WWE Raw talents this past Monday.

During her decade-long run in WWE which has included eight years on the main roster, Charlotte Flair is the most decorated women’s champion in WWE history with an incredible 14 reigns as the WWE Women’s Champion. It’s a record that may never be broken.

Everyone at TJR Wrestling sends their best wishes to Charlotte Flair for a full and speedy recovery.
