Charlotte Flair Celebrates 10 Years Since WWE Debut

Charlotte Flair has commented on the ten-year anniversary of her WWE debut airing on NXT television.

It was ten years ago today, July 17th, when “The Queen” Charlotte Flair’s debut match aired on NXT television. The two-time WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair introduced his daughter, who was just called Charlotte at the time. She signed with WWE over one year earlier in May 2012.

That debut match for Charlotte was against Bayley. It ended with Charlotte getting the win using a flipping neckbreaker that would come to be known as the Natural Selection.

Two years after her NXT debut, Charlotte debuted on the main roster along with Becky Lynch and Sasha Banks at the same time. That’s unofficially when the “Women’s Evolution” (or revolution) in WWE started with the women’s division getting featured a lot more.

During her incredible eight-year run on the main roster, Charlotte Flair has set the record with 14 Women’s Title reigns, which includes seven reigns as Smackdown Women’s Champion, six-time Raw Women’s Champion, and a one-time Divas Champion that helped merge that title with the new Women’s Title in 2016. Flair is also a two-time NXT Women’s Champion and a Women’s Tag Team Champion as well.

The number of championships will be an interesting topic of conversation in the future due to her father Ric Flair and John Cena having 16 WWE/World Title reigns in their careers. It’s certainly possible that Charlotte could beat their record within the next few years.

On Twitter, Charlotte Flair reacted to a tweet that had a video and photos of her WWE debut by saying that the “best is yet to come.”

In addition to her accomplishments in the ring as one of the greatest women’s wrestlers in WWE history, she also met her husband Andrade El Idolo in WWE. While Andrade works for AEW now, the couple started dating four years ago in WWE and were married in 2022.
