Career On The Line? AJ Styles Faces Insane Challenge On WWE RAW

Tonight marks the final stop on WWE’s European tour as Monday Night RAW emanates live from the SSE Arena in Belfast, Northern Ireland, and is set to be a huge show, which will see two championships be defended tonight.

Two of the promotion’s biggest Irish stars, Becky Lynch and Finn Balor, are set to compete in title matches, with Lynch defending her Intercontinental Championship against Maxxine Dupri and Balor facing CM Punk for the World Heavyweight Championship.

The night began with the Ring General, Gunther, making his way to the ring as he looked to gloat about not only retiring John Cena, but also about his win over AJ Styles from last week.

Gunther challenges AJ Styles on WWE RAW

Gunther boasted about his achievements over the past year, claiming that he would reclaim the World Heavyweight Championship, and then became the first RAW superstar to declare for the 2026 WWE Royal Rumble.

He was then interrupted by AJ Styles, who asked the Ring General for a rematch at the Royal Rumble event in Saudi Arabia, but Gunther declined as he focused on his goal of winning the Rumble.

Styles got under the former World Champion’s skin, reminding him that he tapped out to the Phenomenal One last week. Gunther then asked AJ to put his career on the line at the Royal Rumble if he wishes to face the Ring General, giving him time till the end of the night to decide.
