Bryan Danielson Opens Up On His Final Text Exchange With Brodie Lee

Brodie Lee cuts a promo

Following AEW Dynamite, Bryan Danielson paid tribute to the late, great Brodie Lee and revealed the last text messages he exchanged with the former TNT Champion.

The latest episode of Dynamite saw Bryan Danielson find out who he will face at Full Gear after Miro defeated Orange Cassidy in the semi-final of the AEW World Title Eliminator Tournament. Miro replaced Jon Moxley in the tournament as Moxley has recently entered an inpatient alcohol treatment program.

Following the bout, Danielson made his way to the ring and offered his hand in respect to Miro, but ‘The Redeemer’ refused to accept it. After the show went off the air, Danielson was joined by the Best Friends group and AEW President Tony Khan.

Khan opened up on how this week was one of the most difficult he’s experienced in wrestling, coming second to December 2020 when Brodie Lee sadly passed away at the age of only 41.

Following Khan’s words, Bryan Danielson discussed Brodie Lee and Jon Moxley. As well as the encouraging messages he received from Moxley, the ‘American Dragon’ revealed the positive text exchange he had with Lee.

“Tony just talked about two of my really good friends. One I haven’t gotten the chance to talk about publicly very much, but the last text I sent to Brodie was this, ‘Hey man, how’s life?’ And do you know what he said? He texted me back, ‘It’s f**cking awesome’ (the crowd chants ‘Brodie’).”

“Another guy I texted was the second guy he mentioned, and I might not be here if it weren’t for him because I watched an AEW show and I saw all these men and women doing these incredible things.”

“And I didn’t know if I could keep up, and I said that to Moxley and do you know what he said? He said, ‘You’re Bryan f**cking Danielson. You’re the best in the world. I’m not telling you you should come here but don’t for a goddamn second think you can’t.’ So Jon, get better soon. We miss you, and we love you.”

Bryan Danielson will take on Miro at Full Gear in the final of the AEW World Championship Eliminator Tournament on November 13th. The match will determine who the next challenger for the world title will be after Kenny Omega puts it on the line against ‘Hangman’ Adam Page in the main event of the show.
