Brock Lesnar created a huge impact on Raw during Monday’s taping.

Lesnar’s appearance was welcome news for fans who had seen The Beast Incarnate call it a career after his defeat to Oba Femi at WrestleMania 42.

Following his loss, the 48-year-old removed his shoes and gloves and threw an X sign with his arms towards his manager, Paul Heyman, signaling that he was indeed done with the sport.

Subsequent reports claimed that Brock Lesnar’s actions came as a shock to everyone backstage, who supposedly had no idea that the former multi-time champion would go off-script.

After his departure, fans speculated about all possible challenges for Oba Femi, but none of them matched up to the level of Lesnar.

Meanwhile, Femi introduced the Oba Femi open challenge, which saw him defeat Otis in its first week and squash Los Garzas in a 2-on-1 handicap match on the subsequent episode when everyone backstage refused to answer his challenge.

Oba Femi was all set to continue his open challenge on May 18, but the question on everyone’s mind was who would step up.

As Femi strutted to the ring to ‘Oba’ chants from the Greensboro crowd and posed in his traditional stance, Brock Lesnar blindsided him by striking him on the back of the head.

He then followed it up with four F5s, leaving fans excited not only about Lesnar’s return, but also the continuation of their rivalry, which had met an abrupt end at WrestleMania.

Femi did not no-sell the F5s as he did at the Show of Shows, selling the impact like he had been legitimately hurt.

Brock Lesnar’s Return Linked To Saudi Arabia

After Brock Lesnar said goodbye to the WWE Universe at WrestleMania, seeing him back inside the squared circle was considered wishful thinking by many fans.

There is no official word on whether this was the plan all along or if Lesnar went back on his retirement.

While speaking on The Last Word podcast, former WWE employee Tommy Carlucci claimed that his return may be tied to Saudi Arabia, as the local officials might have offered him a massive payday to be present in the Kingdom for Night of Champions on June 27.

Carlucci speculated that the two heavyweights might have a match at Clash in Italy on May 31 and another in Saudi Arabia.

I think it almost has to happen where Brock wins here in Italy, then it leads to probably Saudi Arabia, if they’re still gonna have that show there…so, if they still have the show in Saudi, I’m sure the Saudis, they want Brock Lesnar there. And that could be another big reason why they brought him back tonight. [2:22 onwards]

Earlier, reports claimed that Lesnar would retire at SummerSlam in August, which is set to take place in his home of Minnesota, Minneapolis.

Lesnar was also pitched to have his final match against Gunther, who has retired wrestlers like Goldberg, John Cena, and AJ Styles since 2025.
