John Cena wasn’t the only guest at Vince McMahon’s birthday dinner, with Brock Lesnar among those in attendance at the New York City restaurant.
Former WWE Chairman and CEO Vince McMahon turned 77 on 24 August, celebrating the occasion at New York City’s Waverly Inn restaurant with John Cena and his wife Shay Shariatzadeh, as well as a mysterious female accomplice. The group was spotted at the extravagant location by TMZ.
However, they weren’t the only ones wishing a happy birthday to the ex-WWE boss. Brock Lesnar was also spotted in attendance in a trademark cowboy hat, pictured standing alongside SmackDown announcer Pat McAfee. Vince McMahon has a well-established relationship with both Lesnar and McAfee. Brock Lesnar went as far as to say how he “can’t compare” the relationships he’s forged throughout his career with Vince and UFC President Dana White during an appearance on The Pat McAfee Show:
“Vince and I have had a love/hate relationship for the last 20 years, but it’s been good, we’ve got a lot of water under the bridge. I’ve got a lot of respect for both men. But dealing with Dana, it’s a totally different business approach.”
Brock Lesnar was brought back to WWE in April 2012 after a successful two-year stint between 2002 and 2004. He’s now one of the biggest WWE Superstars in history, both physically and metaphorically, with ten World Championships reigns to his name.
‘The Beast Incarnate’ last wrestled on 30 July at WWE SummerSlam. There, he failed to capture the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship in an acclaimed Last Man Standing match vs. Roman Reigns.
