A WWE Veteran has nothing but praise for Brock Lesnar after his match at WrestleMania 42. The legend in question is The Phenomenal One, AJ Styles.

Brock Lesnar has been the topic of conversation among the wrestling community ever since his match against Oba Femi at WrestleMania 42. Lesnar surprisingly lost to Oba under just 5 minutes. After the match, Brock left his boots in the ring and got emotional, hinting at retirement.

On the other hand, AJ Styles has already announced his retirement from in-ring competition after his last match against Gunther at the Royal Rumble PLE earlier this year. The Phenomenal One has also been inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame class of 2026. AJ has shared the ring with Brock when the two faced each other at Survivor Series back in 2017.

AJ Styles highly praised Brock Lesnar after his match against Oba Femi

Speaking during The Phenomenally Retro podcast, AJ Styles talked about Lesnar seemingly retiring at WrestleMania 42. Styles also reflected on how he, John Cena, and Brock are the same age and explained how the body breaks down at this age:

(The match was) Kind of pretty much what I thought it was going to be. If Brock has indeed retired, good for him man. I get it, I understand it. You know the crazy thing that most people don’t think about is John Cena, Brock and myself are all the same age right? So I get it, I understand it, your body’s breaking down at this point. No matter how great a shape or how much you’ve wrestled in the last couple years or whatever… You’re not gonna beat time man. Father time’s going to get you and you’re trying not to hurt yourself just to get to that last match.”

Styles offered his praise for Brock Lesnar for putting over Oba Femi in a big way at WrestleMania 42:

So, kudos to Brock for doing the job. Oba’s going to be a big star because of it. I think it’s a good thing.”

AJ Styles went on to talk about Oba Femi, declaring him a star and is curious to see what’s next for him:

He’s a star. Everybody feels it… And he’s a good dude and he’s still humble. I hope that it’s everything that he thought it was going to be. I’m anxious to see what he does next.” [h/t WrestleTalk]
