Brandi Rhodes Makes Big Revelation After Gunther’s Attack On Cody Rhodes On WWE SmackDown

Brandi Rhodes had an interesting thought after seeing Gunther attack Cody Rhodes on WWE SmackDown.

The Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes started off WWE SmackDown in Tulsa, showing off the black eye he has had since his WrestleMania 42 match with Randy Orton on April 18th.

After Rhodes beat Orton at WrestleMania 42, Orton reacted to the loss violently by hitting Cody with the WWE Title and also doing his running Punt kick to the head.

Since the attack, Rhodes wasn’t cleared to wrestle again. However, during his promo on SmackDown, Rhodes announced that he had been cleared even though he was still sporting the black eye.

Ricky Saints interrupted the Cody Rhodes promo as the two men admitted they were close friends. It led to some friendly banter, which set them up for a match later in the show. Rhodes uttered one of his new catchphrases about being easy to find, but hard to beat.

During the Rhodes-Saints match, Saints gave Rhodes all he had and nearly got the win a few times, including with a Tornado DDT, but Rhodes kept kicking out. Rhodes would go on to win clean with the Cross Rhodes.

After the match, Cody Rhodes celebrated with the WWE Title when Gunther (who is normally a Raw guy) arrived and applied a Sleeper on Cody. Gunther let go and applied another Sleeper on Cody, who sold it like he was passed out. Referees showed up, so Gunther let go and left.

In a post on X, Cody’s wife Brandi Rhodes made a humorous remark that Cody’s oldest daughter, Libby, wanted to use one of her infant sister’s diapers to stink up Gunther’s bus.

Libby wants to put one of her sisters dirty diapers on Gunther’s bus. I think that’s a good start and we can just build from there.

It would appear that a Cody Rhodes-Gunther feud for the WWE Title is the plan for the future, but nothing has been made official yet. It’s also not yet known if Gunther is officially on SmackDown, or if he’s still a Raw guy.

Triple H Said No To Cody Rhodes Wearing An Eyepatch

During a recent interview, Cody Rhodes revealed that he suggested to WWE’s Chief Content Officer, Paul “Triple H” Levesque, that he wear an eyepatch to sell the black eye injury.

“We tried a little on the eye. I think we deemed that there was no way to cover this up. And I’ll tell you something funny—I thought, ‘I’m going to go to TV. I’m going to go to Monday Night Raw, I’m going to go to Friday Night SmackDown, I’m going to do an eye patch thing.’

I thought that would be cool. Wrestlers are always looking for something—let’s get a new action figure out of it, eye patch Cody.”

While eye patch Cody may have sounded cool, Triple H didn’t feel that way.

“Triple H told me absolutely not. And there might be a shot on Unreal of me throwing that eye patch down backstage, because I had it—I was ready to go. But hey, it comes with the territory more than anything. I had no complaints—it’s just a little battle scar, that’s all.”
