The “All Mighty” Bobby Lashley is known for his impressive physique, but the former WWE Champion once pitched a story where he became obese.

Wrestling fans know that Bobby Lashley is known for staying in great shape. Even at 46 years old, Lashley continues to perform at a high level while looking just as impressive as he did when he started in WWE over 15 years ago.

There was a time in his career where Lashley pitched a storyline to former WWE Chairman Vince McMahon where Lashley put on 70 pounds of weight and became a shell of his former self. This isn’t one of those wrestler tales that may be fictional because Lashley mentioned it himself during a recent appearance on the NotSam Wrestling podcast.

“I told Vince a year ago, I think a year or two ago, I told him, ‘I want to do this character.’ He said, ‘What is it?’ I said, ‘If I get beat one time, I want to go into the severe depression and put on like 40, 50, 60, or 70 pounds and just be fat, and then be a completely different character and then have like somebody like an MVP, or somebody that’s on my side, kind of like, pull me back and then have the crowd watch his transition back to me.’ He said, ‘There’s no way you can do that.’ I said, ‘Man, I think I can.’”

While Lashley pitched that storyline to McMahon, it didn’t make it to television. Instead, Lashley has had an impressive run over the last two years as a heel before turning babyface earlier this year.

Lashley has had two reigns as the WWE Champion and he held the US Title until losing it to Seth “Freakin” Rollins on the October 10th episode of Raw.

The reason Lashley lost the US Title to Rollins was because of a cheap attack from Brock Lesnar before the match. Lesnar was likely getting payback from earlier in 2022 at the Royal Rumble when Lashley won the WWE Title from Lesnar thanks to interference from Roman Reigns & Paul Heyman. Lesnar is advertised for the October 17th episode of Raw, so Lashley should be there to seek some revenge.

It is expected that Lashley will face Lesnar in a singles match at WWE Crown Jewel on November 5th.
