John Cena retired from active competition in December 2025. He recently celebrated another milestone.

On April 23, 2026, the 17-time World Champion turned 49. On the occasion of his 49th birthday, fans congratulated him on social media.

Cena was born in West Newbury, Massachusetts, on April 23, 1977.

Just before his 49th birthday, John Cena served as the official host of WrestleMania 42 in Las Vegas on both nights. Following his Mania appearance, which was his first as a retired superstar, Cena shared his experience on Twitter, stating that he enjoyed the WrestleMania weekend from a different perspective.

He also thanked all the fans who were in attendance at this year’s biggest premium live event.

Cena tweeted, “An incredible weekend! Truly enjoyed WM thru a different perspective. What a turnout of 106,072! To ALL those who saw it live …. Thank you for the Hausen”

John Cena And Danhausen Steal The Spotlight At WrestleMania

John Cena also shared one of his favorite WrestleMania moments ever, which was sharing an in-ring segment with Danhausen.

On night 2 of WrestleMania 42, Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas saw The Miz and Kit Wilson interrupt John Cena’s attendance announcement segment. Miz and Wilson were there to demand their own WrestleMania moments.

Shortly later, Danhausen arrived in his Danhausen-mobile, accompanied by a group of mini-hausens. Kit Wilson rudely shoved one of the mini-hausens, and the group retaliated with a low blow and a dogpile on Wilson.

Danhausen then attacked The Miz and hit him with a version of the Five Knuckle Shuffle with Cena’s blessing, followed by a low blow to the A-Lister. This segment was very much enjoyed by the fans, as many of them had been looking forward to the two stars meeting for a while.
