John Cena Breaks Silence After Blockbuster WWE Return At WrestleMania 42

John Cena made his WWE return at WrestleMania 42 in Las Vegas.

The Last Real Champion wrestled his last match at Saturday Night’s Main Event in December 2025, where he faced Gunther. The Ring General defeated Cena in his last match by forcing him to tap out to his sleeper hold.

John Cena had promised that he would never return to the ring after his retirement, but he made his return to WWE at WrestleMania 42. The purpose of his return was to serve as the host for the two-night event.

Cena appeared at the show dressed in a suit rather than his wrestling jorts and made announcements, hyping up the event and energizing the fans. As the host, one of his duties was to announce the show attendance for both nights.

Following WrestleMania, John Cena logged onto his X (formerly Twitter) account to share his experience. He tweeted that he “truly enjoyed the incredible WrestleMania weekend from a different perspective” and thanked all 106,000+ fans in attendance.

Cena tweeted, “An incredible weekend! Truly enjoyed WM thru a different perspective. What a turnout of 106,072! To ALL those who saw it live …. Thank you for the Hausen”

John Cena Had A Segment With Danhausen At WrestleMania 42

On Night 2, Danhausen had a segment with John Cena involving The Miz and Kit Wilson. While Cena was making an announcement, The Miz and Kit Wilson interrupted him, looking for their WrestleMania moment.

Shortly afterward, Danhausen made a surprise appearance alongside his mini-hausens. As he was about to speak to Cena, Miz and Wilson interrupted again. Kit Wilson shoved one of the mini-hausens and called them toxic. In response, they hit him with a low blow and attacked him.

Danhausen then low-blowed The Miz and followed it up with a Five Knuckle Shuffle. Cena did not get physically involved with them. He simply watched and laughed as Danhausen and his mini-hausens took out The Miz and Kit Wilson.
