John Cena Makes Heartfelt Confession Following WWE WrestleMania 42
Weeks before WrestleMania 42, John Cena was officially announced as its host.
The former WWE 17-time Champion retired from wrestling at last year’s Saturday Night’s Main Event, losing to Gunther via submission.
During a public event, he revealed that he was still involved with the Stamford promotion, albeit in a backstage role, and hoped that it would work out for the best.
John Cena opened WrestleMania on both nights, where 13 matches decided the future direction of the superstars involved.
On April 18, he also introduced Bianca Belair, who has not competed since last year’s WrestleMania due to a finger injury she sustained during her 3-way Women’s World Championship match against Rhea Ripley and then-champion IYO SKY.
In front of the world, Belair announced that she was pregnant with her first child with fellow WWE star and husband Montez Ford.
At the time of one of his April 19 appearances, he was interrupted by The Miz and Kit Wilson. The duo was then confronted by Danhausen, with whom they have been feuding over the last several weeks.
The former AEW star brought several mini versions of himself along with him, one of whom got taken out by Wilson after he shoved them to the mat. The other Dauhausens then attacked Wilson.
The 35-year-old star then dropped The Miz with a shot to the groin before hitting him with John Cena’s “Five Knuckle Shuffle.”
John Cena Shares Favorite Moment From WrestleMania 42
It is fair to assume that John Cena was one of the top attractions at WrestleMania 42 despite limited screen time.
His interaction with Danhausen has over half a million views on WWE’s YouTube channel, which was also one of Cena’s favorite segments across both nights.
Taking to X, Danhausen first shared his experience of sharing the ring with the former World Champion, calling him his “new best friend.”
In response, Cena shared a picture of them backstage, which he called “one of my favorite WrestleMania moments ever.”

The WrestleMania matches witnessed several titles changing hands, including the World Heavyweight Championship, for which Roman Reigns defeated CM Punk in the main event of Night 2.
Also, Liv Morgan defeated Stephanie Vaquer to become a 3-time Women’s World Champion.
