Becky Lynch Admits Former WWE Rival Is “So Lovable”
Becky Lynch recently broke character to praise her former rival.
Of late, the former Women’s Intercontinental Champion has been seen ranting on social media about her European vacation getting spoiled.
Lynch, who is a 3-time IC champion, dropped the belt to Sol Ruca at the Clash in Italy PLE on May 31.
The 39-year-old recently competed in the first round of the Queen of the Ring tournament, with the finalists squaring off at Night of Champions, and the winner challenging for the world championship at SummerSlam.
Facing challenges from Chelsea Green, Liv Morgan, and Alexa Bliss, Becky Lynch failed to emerge victorious after Morgan pinned Green by sneaking a jackknife pin.
While being involved in such a loss would often send Lynch on a tirade, this time around, she chose to take it in her stride. Instead, during a podcast appearance, she praised a former rival.
Becky Lynch Praises Maxxine Dupri While Recalling Her Early Days In WWE
Becky Lynch was recently a guest on Stephanie McMahon’s What’s Your Story? podcast.
“The Man” looked back on her early days in the Stamford promotion, crediting her willingness to outwork her peers as a way to secure her job.
While at it, she drew a comparison to her former rival, Maxxine Dupri, with whom she feuded last year, even calling her ‘lovable.’
I remember just trying to figure all of it out. And by some miracle, I made it through. But I will also say a lot of that I think that saved my job — apart from the wonderful people who kept me employed — was an attitude of not being above anything. Of, ‘Okay, I might not be the most athletically gifted. I’m not going to win a modeling competition. I’m not going to win a physique competition. But how can I show that there’s some glimmer of hope?’
And it was like, ‘Okay, I have to be in the gym more than anybody else. I have to be in the ring more than anybody else. I have to be in the promo room more than anybody else.’ It was always trying to find, ‘Okay, I’m going to be this rosebud for Adam Rose — how do I be the best rosebud?’ And I think that helped a lot.
The person I see it the most with right now is Maxxine. Because she got called up to the main roster without having six months of training as a professional, and has now been working and — she has put in the work. And beyond the work that she’s put in, the attitude that she has. Like I remember just seeing her and being like, ‘Oh dude, she’s so lovable.’ [H/T: 411mania.com]
Becky Lynch began her feud with Maxxine Dupri in early August 2025, beating her comprehensively during her Intercontinental Championship title defense.
Their feud was revived in October, where Dupri won, albeit via Count Out and DQ, setting up another title match on the November 17 episode of Raw.
During that episode, AJ Lee provided a distraction, helping Maxxine Dupri beat Becky Lynch for the IC title for the first time.
