Bayley Reacts To Shocking Royal Rumble Match Elimination

Bayley speaking at WWE Royal Rumble press conference

Bayley has given her reaction to the shock Royal Rumble elimination of Nia Jax by debuting former AEW star Jade Cargill.

The former AEW TBS Champion surprisingly entered the Women’s Royal Rumble match at number 28 and swiftly despatched the dominating Nia Jax in ruthless fashion.

Cargill would also remove ‘The Man’ Becky Lynch and the returning Naomi en-route to making the final three before eventually being dumped out by another returnee, Liv Morgan.

Morgan lasted just seconds longer, however, before she herself was eliminated by eventual winner Bayley.

Speaking during an appearance on popular WWE show ‘The Bump’, Bayley reflected on Cargill’s immediate impact in the match, recognising the threat that the Floridian brings to the table:

“I was not expecting that [Cargill eliminating Jax] and I’m glad I had a front-row seat to it. When she [Cargill] eliminated her [Jax], after seeing that I [thought] need to get rid of this girl!”

Bayley would go on the share her delight at Cargill’s signing with WWE and joked that the newcomer’s arrival on the main roster would serve to make her own life easier in the women’s division:

“I’m excited to have her within the division. She’s a new obstacle to overcome. She’s someone new that can take care of girls like Nia and I don’t have to do it.”

Bayley Chooses WrestleMania Opponent

Victory in the Women’s Royal Rumble secured Bayley a Championship match of her choosing at WrestleMania 40 and fans didn’t have to wait long to hear her choice.

Dissention in the ranks of Damage CTRL has been teased for many months and it finally came to a head on the 2nd February edition of SmackDown, with Bayley confronting the other members of the faction before being subjected to a vicious attack.

The former SmackDown Women’s Champion soon recovered with the assistance of a lead pipe before grabbing the microphone to announce that she would challenge IYO SKY for the WWE Women’s Championship at WrestleMania.
