Backstage Update On Brock Lesnar’s WWE Retirement Will Surprise You!
Brock Lesnar apparently retired at WrestleMania 42. The Beast Incarnate faced Oba Femi on Night 2 of The Showcase of Immortals this year.
After his loss to Femi, Lesnar remained in the ring and removed his wrestling gloves and boots, leaving them in the center of the ring. He then shared a heartfelt embrace with his longtime advocate, Paul Heyman, and waved goodbye to the Allegiant Stadium crowd, with fans chanting “Thank you, Lesnar” before returning backstage.
Brock Lesnar removing his gloves and boots and leaving them in the center of the ring was seen as a traditional sign of retirement, with many claiming that The Beast Incarnate has called it quits. However, according to Dave Meltzer, Brock Lesnar has not actually retired.
Brock Lesnar Hasn’t Retired Yet, Says Dave Meltzer
Speaking on the recent episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer stated that people in WWE believe that Lesnar has not retired yet. He is expected to retire at some point this year, but what he did at WrestleMania 42 was not a sign of him hanging up his wrestling boots.
“I will only say that based on people in WWE, they believe he’s not retiring yet, although he is retiring at some point probably this year. I don’t know that anyone knows. This might be one of those things where everything is being kept quiet like the Seth Rollins thing (fake injury). A couple of people have mentioned it, that’s the belief. We’ll see. I’m not like saying that this is for sure because I don’t know if anyone knows for sure,” Meltzer said.
Recently, it was reported that only a handful of people in WWE knew about Lesnar’s apparent WrestleMania retirement, as many people within the company were in utter shock after seeing him remove his boots and gloves and leave them in the ring. People were under the impression that Lesnar would retire at SummerSlam this year in his hometown of Minneapolis, Minnesota.
