Alexa Bliss shocked her fans with a statement about retiring a major version of hers.

Alexa Bliss, in recent times, has been part of a successful tag team with Charlotte Flair. The pair won the tag team gold at SummerSlam night 1 last year by defeating The Judgement Day’s Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez. However, after losing the tag belts later on to the Kabuki Warriors, they have been in hot pursuit of the titles since.

Their latest attempt was in a fatal four-way tag team match at WrestleMania 42 for the belts that the team of Paige and Brie Bella won.

Alexa Bliss has largely been a babyface in her recent tag team run, but she had a persona, Dark Alexa, which was part of her character during the time she worked with the late Bray Wyatt and the Wyatt family. She even uses the Sister Abigail DDT, which was Wyatt’s move.

Dark Alexa was a key ally of Bray Wyatt’s. The two stars had a fallout when Bliss betrayed Wyatt, and cost him his match against Randy Orton at WrestleMania 37. She distracted him using flowing black ink, just when he was about to deliver a Sister Abigail to Orton. Orton took advantage of the distraction and landed an RKO to win the match.

With Bray Wyatt’s health issues and subsequent passing, Alexa Bliss hasn’t gone back to the Dark Alexa character.

Alexa Bliss Has Retired The Dark Alexa Version Of Her Character

The r/SquaredCircle subreddit on Reddit had a video upload by a fan where Alexa Bliss was seen wishing a happy birthday to someone.

Bliss originally recorded and sent the video to the fan from her Cameo account. In the clip, she can be seen talking about her Dark Alexa gimmick.

Bliss acknowledged the fan’s love for the character and said that she loved the role. However, out of respect for the late Bray Wyatt, Bliss has chosen to retire the character, she revealed.

About Dark Alexa. Look, while I love that it meant something to you, it meant so much to me as well. That chapter is very special and very close tied with my time with Bray, so out of respect to him and the Wyatts, I like to keep that version of myself exactly where it is. And for the time, it is retired and untouchable, but I can still be with it.

On hard days, remember that even the strongest versions of ourselves are built through the darker moments. You’re allowed to feel it, but don’t let it stay there.

The Wyatt Sicks were recently released by WWE after WrestleMania 42 as part of the annual talent cuts, which have been happening in recent years.

With the Wyatts gone, it looks like Bliss’ Dark Alexa character will stay retired.
