AEW Star Suggests What Kind Of Final Match Sting Could Have

Sting

A veteran AEW wrestler has an idea of what Sting’s final match could look like.

During his AEW career so far, Sting is undefeated with a 25-0 record. Every one of those matches has been a tag team match that was either 2-on-2 or a match with more partners. The one constant in all of those matches is that Sting has teamed with former TNT Champion Darby Allin in every one of those matches.

It has been announced by AEW that Sting will wrestle his last match at the Revolution pay-per-view on March 3rd at the Greensboro Coliseum in Greensboro, NC. Ticket sales have been very strong for the show even though no matches have been announced yet.

Since Sting has wrestled in only tag team matches in AEW, many people have assumed that he would be in a tag team match for his last match.

However, AEW veteran Matt Hardy said on his Extreme Life of Matt Hardy podcast that perhaps a Sting singles match against Darby Allin could take place at Revolution. As he continued, though, Hardy seemed to go back to the idea of Sting competing in a tag team match again.

“I don’t know. I could possibly see Sting and Darby in a singles match at Revolution. I almost feel like it would be Sting and Darby together. I could almost see Sting and Darby winning the tag titles and maybe losing them in that final match. I don’t know, there’s a couple of ways it could go. I think that’s something Sting would be up for doing. I don’t know.”

“I think his match at Revolution is going to be a tag match. My gut tells me it won’t be a singles match.”

When co-host Jon Alba said that Darby Allin would be the best choice if Sting did a singles match, Matt Hardy agreed.

“I think so. I feel like that is the most sensible match to end things since he’s been his mentor since day one.”

Sting Teaming With Darby Allin On AEW Collision

The January 6th edition of AEW Collision is in Charlotte, NC and Tony Khan announced that Sting will be in action with Darby Allin. They will be up against the Workhorsemen team of JD Drake & Anthony Henry. Considering the opposition, it would be a surprise if Sting & Allin lost their first tag team match as a team.

In addition to the match on AEW Collision, Sting will also be in action on the June 10th edition of Dynamite when he teams up with Darby Allin against Konosuke Takeshita & Powerhouse Hobbs of the Don Callis Family stable.
