A former champion has returned to AEW television after missing over one year of in-ring action.

Thunder Rosa made her triumphant return to the AEW ring on the December 16th edition of Collision in Garland, Texas.

The mysterious Abadon was in singles action against Jazmin Allure, which is a match that Abadon won quickly.

After the match, TBS Champion Julia Hart went into the ring to taunt Abadon. It looked like Abadon would be able to fight off Hart, but then Skye Blue entered the ring and worked with Hart to show that they were allies. That’s when Thunder Rosa made her return to the ring by jumping the barricade and cleaning house to save Abadon from the double team attack.

Abadon and Thunder Rosa ended up standing in the ring as allies. Rosa extended her hand and Abadon shook it.

For Thunder Rosa, it was her first time being in the ring in a physical capacity in over a year. Rosa has been sidelined due to a serious back injury. Rosa was the AEW Women’s Champion when she suffered the injury and she had to forfeit the title on September 4th, 2022 to end her championship reign at 172 days.

It was mentioned by Thunder Rosa earlier in December that she was ready to return whenever the bosses wanted her to come back.

Since being out of action, Rosa has also spent time on the Spanish commentary team for All Elite Wrestling.

Thunder Rosa’s AEW Return Match Has Been Announced

In addition to her return on Collision, a match has already been announced for the December 23rd edition of AEW Collision with Thunder Rosa teaming up with the mysterious Abadon against the TBS Champion Julia Hart and her buddy Skye Blue.

For Thunder Rosa, it will be her first televised match since August 2022.

Welcome back to Thunder Rosa, who missed over a year of action due to the serious back injury and now she’s ready to prove she is one of the top women in AEW.
