AEW Star Pays Paul Heyman Tribute After WWE Hall Of Fame Announcement

Paul Heyman is heading to the WWE Hall of Fame and one AEW star who knows Heyman better than most couldn’t wait to offer their kind words.

Paul Heyman was announced as the first inductee into the 2024 WWE Hall of Fame by the Associated Press with WWE heavily promoting the news on Monday Night Raw.

Heyman broke into the business as a precocious teenage photographer before he made waves in front of the camera as Paul E. Dangerously. The mastermind of the Dangerous Alliance soon became the real-life brain behind the grungy and groundbreaking ECW.

After the doors were forced closed on that promotion in 2001, Heyman made his way to WWE where he joined Jim Ross at the announce desk. In 2002, the business changed forever when Brock Lesnar burst onto the scene and while he had strength, power, athleticism, and raw ability in abundance, Paul Heyman was the one steering the ship by his side.

Heyman has built a reputation as arguably the greatest wrestling manager of all time having cornered Lesnar when he conquered The Undertaker’s Streak and being the Wise Man that has kept Roman Reigns the WWE Universal Champion for well over 1,000 days.

Taking to social media, AEW commentator Taz, who famously made his name in ECW sent his congratulations to Heyman for his latest accolade:

Without this man believing in me decades ago, I would not be where I’ve been & where I am. I am forever greatful to Paul. So well deserved (on many levels) for his induction in the WWE HOF. Congrats! @HeymanHustle

In a more surprising move, WWE acknowledged Sting’s retirement on Raw with Pat McAfee calling his final AEW bout an “epic match.”
