AEW Star Denies Injury Reports

An AEW star has made it clear he’s healthy after reports about a possible injury surfaced.

There are always injuries in pro wrestling. It’s just part of the business. While everybody who performs in the ring tries to be safe, the physical nature of the sport leads to injury. An example of that is AEW’s Powerhouse Hobbs recently suffering a major knee injury that required surgery and will likely keep him out of the ring for the rest of the year.

Ricky Starks is a former AEW Tag Team Champion and FTW Champion who has also challenged for the All Elite Wrestling World Title. It was reported by PWInsider that while Starks didn’t appear on All Elite Wrestling television over the last week, he was in Jacksonville, Florida where the company held its TV tapings. The report said that Starks was “getting checked out” by AEW’s medical team.

On Twitter/X, Starks reacted to the news by stating he was there to get his physical done.

“Yeah because everyone had to do their annual physical.”

Starks added another statement as well.

“To ease anyone’s mind, I’m not injured. Never was. Pick another narrative pleaseeeee”

How Many AEW Matches Has Ricky Starks Had This Year?

While Ricky Starks has stated that he is healthy, he has only wrestled in five All Elite Wrestling matches this year. One of those matches saw Starks and tag team partner Big Bill lose the AEW Tag Team Titles to Sting & Darby Allin.

The last match Starks had on AEW TV was on the March 30th episode of Collision when he teamed up with Big Bill in a losing effort against Top Flight. Starks is not currently advertised for a match for the next episode of Dynamite.
