Adam Cole’s future in AEW continues to remain uncertain.

The former TNT Champion has been dealt a bad hand on more than one occasion, owing to the serious injuries he has suffered while representing the promotion.

At AEW All In: Texas last year, Cole was forced to relinquish his title after being declared unfit to defend it against Kyle Fletcher. He addressed the live crowd in an emotional segment, not confirming or denying that his wrestling career was over.

Since then, he has remained off TV, barring a virtual appearance during the 2025 Worlds End pay-per-view, where he gave his prediction about the Continental Classic tournament.

Despite his on-screen absence, fans have occasionally shown their love and support for the AEW superstar through social media posts.

A user on X recently did something similar, where they posted a photo of Cole and MJF from the 2023 All In event. At the said pay-per-view, the duo, competing as Better Than You Bay Bay, defeated Aussie Open (Kyle Fletcher & Mark Davis) to win the Ring of Honor World Tag Team Championship.

The post caught the attention of MJF, who responded in his signature heelish fashion: “Hope he never comes back.

MJF Learns About His Fate For AEW Forbidden Door

Adam Cole may be in the rearview for MJF, but another familiar face has come to haunt him recently and has threatened his hold over the AEW World Championship.

A couple of weeks earlier, Mark Briscoe challenged MJF for the world title, only to be declined by the champion.

Briscoe, however, has been adamant about getting the title shot. On the latest AEW Dynamite taping, Briscoe defeated Death Riders’ Pac in a singles match.

He then called out MJF, again staking his claim as the challenger to his title. The champion again denied his request.

At this point, Briscoe revealed that he had spoken to Tony Khan and proposed a multi-person match at Forbidden Door on June 28.

Khan agreed to a 6-on-6 match, with MJF and Briscoe on the opposite team. He also said that the match would take place inside a steel cage.

The stipulation further stated that if Briscoe’s team won, he would get an AEW World Championship match in the future.

While Briscoe might add members of The Conglomeration to his team, MJF approached Don Callis with a briefcase full of money, telling him that he needed some of his top guys for his team.

It is also noteworthy that MJF recently sustained a knee injury during his title match against RUSH.

So, having him compete in a multi-person match might be the best way to protect him, as he can avoid big spots while still being a part of the action.

Due to the injury, his appearance for Beyond Wrestling was called off as the company continues to monitor his situation closely.
