Latest Update On MJF’s AEW Future After Recent Injury
MJF recently suffered an injury.
Since winning his third World Title, MJF has already had to deal with a lot of potential challengers. One of those challengers is RUSH. After a confrontation last week, Maxwell defended his title against RUSH this week on Dynamite. However, he injured himself during the match.
Despite this, Maxwell was able to complete the match and retain his title. However, the match took a toll on his knee. Maxwell was scheduled to appear at a Beyond Wrestling show. However, the promoter confirmed that the AEW World Champion hyperextended his knee during his match against RUSH and wasn’t medically cleared to compete.
“Unfortunately @The_MJF hyperextended his knee during his match last night & is not medically cleared to travel or compete. He will not be in Cranston tomorrow night but assured me he will wrestle for Beyond Wrestling as soon as his schedule allows. We wish him a speedy recovery.”

Given the nature of the professional wrestling business, when a wrestler gets injured, fans almost always wonder if the injury is legit or kayfabe. However, in MJF’s case, it appears that the injury is legit.
According to Bryan Alvarez of Wrestling Observer, Maxwell’s injury is legit, but the company is hoping it isn’t too serious.
“MJF injury is legit but they’re hoping it’s not serious”
Andrade wants an AEW World Championship match against MJF
Andrade and MJF have been headed for a collision for a while. Both stars have taken shots at each other online many times. Now, Andrade has made it clear that he is after Maxwell’s World Title.
Last week on Dynamite, Andrade confirmed in a backstage segment that there are no distractions stopping him from going after the AEW World Championship.
“Now that the stupid Stadium Stampede is over, I can focus on winning the World Title and beating the stupid and putito MJF. MJF, do you think you are better than a real latino man? How you know?”
It looks like Maxwell’s title reign could be in serious jeopardy.
