AEW Star “Absolutely” Wants Edge In The Company

Edge

Could Edge be on the verge of joining AEW?

Edge had what is believed to be his last match in WWE on the 18th of August edition of SmackDown in his hometown of Toronto where he defeated Sheamus. Since then rumours on the WWE Hall of Famer’s future have run wild with reports that the star had been removed from the company’s internal rosters before it transpired that he had just been moved to another list.

However, it has since been confirmed that the star’s contract with WWE expires on the 30th of September although Edge himself previously noted that he had an extension offer sitting in his inbox but hadn’t made up his mind on what to do next.

Speculation has mounted that he could be on his way to AEW and if his contract expiry date is correct it would leave him free and clear to appear at WrestleDream on October 1st if he wished.

Swerve Strickland wants to see Edge become All Elite

Speaking to MuscleManMalcolm, Swerve Strickland gave his thoughts on the WWE Hall of Famer joining AEW and says it’s something he wants to see:

“Absolutely. Without a doubt (I’d like to see Edge in AEW and face him one day). I already tagged with his partner, his ex-partner I should say, Christian.

“And one of the biggest moments in that match for me, a lot of people don’t mention it in that match, but one of the biggest moments was us doing the double spear. So that goes to show how much that man means to me and my career.”

Swerve Strickland will face Hangman Adam Page in one of the featured matches at WrestleDream. That show is set to be headlined by Christian Cage defending his TNT Championship against Darby Allin in a two out of three falls match.
