AEW Star Thinks Samoa Joe Might Be Avoiding Him

A top star in All Elite Wrestling believes that Samoa Joe might be avoiding him to prevent a World Title match from happening.

Samoa Joe has been the AEW World Champion since the Worlds End PPV on December 30th. Since then, he has successfully defended his championship against Hook.

Based on current AEW programming, it appears as though the company is building Swerve Strickland and “Hangman” Adam Page as Joe’s next two challengers.

Whether it is Swerve and Page against Joe in a triple threat match at AEW Revolution on March 3rd or a singles match is not yet known.

One man who has his eyes on Samoa Joe’s AEW World Title is the former ROH World Champion Claudio Castagnoli of the Blackpool Combat Club group.

Claudio Castagnolid Wants To Get Samoa Joe’s Attention

During an interview with Mark Hoke on the Mark Hoke Show, Claudio made his intentions known regarding the AEW World Champion Samoa Joe.

“It would mean a lot. That’s what everybody works towards, to be the world champion. I’m just working, being patient, maybe too patient. I think that chance will hopefully come my way and I’ll grab it. I’d be a tremendous representative for the company and be a great world champion.”

“Right now, Joe is the champ, it’s funny, he hasn’t mentioned me of the people who hit the hardest. I think he doesn’t really want to get my attention, which I understand.

“I want to get Samoa Joe’s attention. I don’t know if he wants my attention. We’ve tangled once or twice. It was fun. I think that match is one that never really happened in Ring of Honor when we were both there, it happened maybe once in WWE. I think we’re due for another one. It would be great. We’ll have a new world champion, too.”

It’s unknown if AEW has any plans of doing a Samoa Joe-Claudio Castagnoli match any time soon, but clearly, Claudio thinks he’ll win whenever the match happens.
