AEW Legend Lashes Out After Ruling Out WWE Return
An AEW legend has not taken kindly to comments from a few WWE fans.
Dustin Rhodes signed with the Jacksonville promotion in 2019 after asking for his release from WWE.
There, he had been involved in several storylines, picking up feuds against the likes of The Young Bucks, The Inner Circle, and Brody King.
He also partook in tag team matches that involved his real-life half-brother Cody Rhodes and later Sammy Guevara.
At the 2025 AEW All In: Texas pay-per-view, Rhodes was added to a four-way match for the TNT Championship, which was vacated by the then-champion Adam Cole due to an injury.
Rhodes won the match to win his first title in the promotion. He dropped the title to Kyle Fletcher after just 19 days.
The 56-year-old subsequently underwent a double knee replacement surgery in August 2025 and has been in rehabilitation ever since.
AEW’s Dustin Rhodes Lashes Out At Fans
On more than one occasion, Justin Rhodes has mentioned that his Goldust character from WWE has been retired. Yet, some fans keep tagging him on social media, telling him to revive it.
A similar incident occurred recently. In reply, the AEW legend claimed that he never got a raise in the Stamford promotion, and he would not return just to ‘sit on the bench.’
Some responses claimed that he was ‘sitting on the bench’ currently, as he was out injured. This is when things turned into arguments from conversations.
While snapping at one fan, he wrote:
You don’t have a clue what ur talking about.you guys always think you do, but you don’t.
Another fan claimed that if he never received a raise in WWE then he retired with the same amount, which did not add up. This accusation drew an even harsher response from the AEW star.
Don’t f**king tell me what’s true and not true you weren’t there you’re f**king idiot
In December 2024, Rhodes signed a multi-year deal with the promotion, which was later revealed to be for six years.
