A current AEW star has closed the door on a potential return to WWE.

Dustin Rhodes had six runs in the Stamford-based company. Starting from his second, the 56-year-old adopted the gimmick of Goldust. The wrestling legend held several titles in WWE, including the Intercontinental Championship and the Tag Team Championship.

In 2019, Rhodes departed WWE to join AEW. He has since been an active competitor and a coach in Tony Khan’s promotion. Over the past seven years, he held the AEW TNT Championship once.

Dustin Rhodes Rules Out Leaving AEW For WWE

The second-generation star recently took to X to post a tribute to AJ Styles, who recently retired in WWE. A fan commented on his post, urging WWE to bring back Dustin Rhodes as Goldust immediately.

The comment did not go unnoticed by the AEW star. He responded by slamming WWE for keeping him on the bench, doing nothing, stating that he would not do that anymore. Rhodes added that he did what he was told, and it got him nowhere.

Meanwhile, he pointed out that although he loved the Goldust gimmick, he believed it had run its course. The 56-year-old ended his post by shutting the door on a potential WWE comeback.

Nope! I never got a raise there. What, you want me sitting the bench doing nothing? That ain’t me anymore. I have done the best work of my career with @AEW. I love the character Goldust, but he ran its course. I did what I was told and it got me nowhere. No thanks.
