AEW Champion Defends Recent Booking Decision
An AEW wrestler has defended a booking move while responding to a fan who was critical of a match announced for Dynamite.
The Acclaimed duo of Max Caster & Anthony Bowens are one of the most popular teams in All Elite Wrestling. They are former AEW Tag Team Champions. Since August 27, 2023, The Acclaimed and “Daddy Ass” Billy Gunn have been the AEW Trios Tag team Champions while maintaining their popularity with the fans.
On AEW Dynamite in Savannah, GA taking place on January 24th, The Acclaimed are defending the AEW Trios Tag Team Titles against the former ROH Trios Tag Team Champions, the Mogul Embassy’s Bishop Kaun, Toa Liona & Brian Cage.
That Mogul Embassy trio just lost the ROH Trios Tag Team Titles to Bullet Club Gold’s Jay White & The Gunns on the January 17 edition of AEW Dynamite. Bullet Club Gold won in part thanks to Bowens preventing Prince Nana from cheating for The Mogul Embassy.
Anthony Bowens on Twitter/X reacted to a fan complaining about the match. The fan’s tweet has been deleted, but here’s what Bowens wrote:
“I stopped their attempt at cheating, which cost them the match and their titles. They want revenge and we are fighting champions. We’ll wrestle anyone, at any time, we don’t care. It’s not rocket science.”
It’s a common sense answer from a popular wrestler in Bowens. On AEW Collision, The Acclaimed & Billy also became a supergroup with Bullet Club Gold to form the Bang Bang Scissor Gang.
