AEW’s Britt Baker Closes Major Career Chapter: “They Wanted To Kill Me”
Britt Baker has moved on from a career she had in the past.
The AEW women’s division has produced a lot of homegrown talent since the company launched in January 2019. Due to the strength of the division, AEW has the Women’s World Title, TBS Title, and the Women’s Tag Team Titles, which the company introduced in late 2025.
One of the leaders of the women’s division in AEW’s first four years was Dr. Britt Baker, DMD, who was not only a good pro wrestler but also a dentist with her own practice. Britt’s legit dentistry background was even part of her character, which used the Lockjaw finisher by putting her hands in her opponent’s mouth.
For reasons unknown to most wrestling fans and even to people who cover the business, Baker has effectively been benched and not used by AEW since November 2024.
When AEW Owner Tony Khan has been asked about Baker in the past, including in an interview earlier this month, he has given vague answers about her future without explaining why she has been benched for over a year.
While Baker has missed time in the past due to health issues, there are no known injuries or ailments keeping her out of the ring right now, but there have been rumors that she wants to go to WWE since she removed AEW references from her social media accounts.
Britt Baker Is No Longer A Full Time Dentist
Regarding her dentistry career, Baker recently had a red carpet interview with Adam Glyn where she revealed that she no longer has a full-time practice due to the life of a wrestler and the crazy fans that exist out there.
“As much as I love the wrestling fans, they are a little passionate, sometimes for their own good and my own safety. It got a little carried away sometimes with some scary wrestling fans wanting to come kill me because I’m a bad guy.”
As for her wrestling career, Baker made it clear she’s not retired, and she’s happy fans still talk about her.
“I just love that the fans are still talking about me. Keep the chatter up because I love it. Stay tuned.”
