There are some big names in AEW with contracts expiring soon and the company and trying very hard to re-sign those major stars.

Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks (Nick Jackson & Matt Jackson) aka The Elite have been Executive Vice Presidents in AEW since the company launched in 2019. The other EVP was Cody Rhodes, who had a three-year contract and chose to go back to WWE in 2022 when he couldn’t agree to a new deal with All Elite Wrestling.

During his All Elite Wrestling career so far, Omega is a former AEW World Champion, Tag Team Champion and a Trios Tag Team Champion with the Young Bucks. As for the Young Bucks, they are former AEW Tag Team Champions and Trios Tag Team Champions.

In addition to their championships, The Elite trio are also main event performers that headlined the Double or Nothing pay-per-view this past Sunday. It was an Anarchy in the Arena match where Omega, The Young Bucks and “Hangman” Adam Page lost to The Blackpool Combat Club’s Bryan Danielson, Jon Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli & Wheeler Yuta due to Konosuke Takeshita helping the BCC win the match.

Behind the scenes, the contracts of Omega and The Young Bucks are expiring. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, All Elite Wrestling is attempting to re-sign them soon.

“AEW is getting more aggressive in trying to get the contracts of the Young Bucks & Kenny Omega completed.”

Back in April, Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer talked about how Omega’s contract was extended due to injuries.

“Kenny Omega is under contract to AEW, his contract was extended because he was out for I think nine months due to injuries. I believe that he is under contract until around November/December. There is no new deal that’s been signed.”

There have been previous reports that WWE could pursue some top AEW stars if their deals expire this year, so obviously All Elite Wrestling wants to try to lock up some of their biggest names like The Elite trio.
