Adam Page Set For Mysterious AEW Absence

Adam Page AEW

Samoa Joe put the AEW World Title on the line at Revolution against Swerve Strickland and Adam Page and now it seems one of those stars is set for some time off.

Adam Page had an AEW World Title shot at Revolution against Samoa Joe but Page seemed more intent on ensuring the other man in the three way match, Swerve Strickland, didn’t win the title rather than claiming the gold for himself.

So much so, that Page attacked referee Bryce Remsburg during the match to break up a pin attempt. By the end of the bout, Samoa Joe had Page trapped in the Coquina Clutch but with Strickland starting to stir, Page tapped out to end the contest. The commentators wondered if Page tapped because he couldn’t continue or if he did it to stop Strickland from winning the gold.

Adam Page Set For AEW Hiatus?

Fightful Select has reported that Page taking the loss at Revolution could be because the star is set to take time off from AEW television. The report notes while it is still uncertain when Page’s time off will begin, his attacking of referees at Revolution could be the start of it with a storyline suspension no doubt considered as the reason he is missing.

Page was said to be touch and go to compete in the match with the ankle injury that he faked to attack Swerve Strickland possible cover if he needed to withdraw from the match. Should Page end up missing time from AEW, the report notes that his absence could be for a few months.
