2-Time WWE Champion Could Be Suspended On RAW Due To Major Reason
The RAW after WWE Backlash 2026 is just around the corner, and a top star could face severe consequences for his actions.
Backlash was an action-packed show, with multiple big moments taking place. While Bron Breakker defeated Seth Rollins, Trick Williams continued his United States Title reign by picking up a win over Sami Zayn. Danhausen aligned with his mystery partner, Minihausen, to torment The Miz and Kit Wilson even more.
Additionally, IYO SKY defeated Asuka, but it was the post-match events that caught the fans’ attention more. SKY and The Empress of Tomorrow shared an emotional moment before the latter seemingly bid goodbye. In between the in-ring action, John Cena also made his blockbuster announcement at WWE Backlash.
Then there was the main event.
Roman Reigns and Jacob Fatu clashed at WWE Backlash
Roman Reigns and Jacob Fatu took each other to the limit in the World Heavyweight Championship Match at Backlash. In the closing moments, an exposed turnbuckle proved to be Fatu’s undoing, as this led to The OTC hitting the spear for the victory.
Post-match, an enraged Samoan Werewolf laid down a beatdown on Roman Reigns, applying the vicious Tongan Death Grip. He even assaulted the referee, Shawn Bennett, for trying to stop the assault, and floored him with a Pop-Up Samoan Drop.
Not even the intervention of multiple WWE officials, including RAW General Manager Adam Pearce, got things under control. Jacob Fatu continued his attack with the Tongan Death Grip before finally standing tall over Roman Reigns as the show went off air.
Just minutes after the heinous beatdown, Reigns commented on what went down and stated that Fatu should never have been allowed to join WWE.
During the WWE Backlash Post-Show, a panel consisting of Big E, Corey Graves, Peter Rosenberg, and Jackie Redmond addressed the situation around Roman Reigns and Jacob Fatu. Graves said that Jacob Fatu could be in danger of fines or a suspension due to his actions.
Corey Graves: “I think it was miraculous Roman Reigns was able to muster out any words after spending a significant period of time in the Tongan Death Grip. When have you seen that look in Roman’s eyes? Roman has been to the main event of WrestleMania, what, a dozen times now. Roman lives in the big time. So to see that sort of emotion, that sort of anger, that fury in the eyes of The Tribal Chief, that spells bad, bad news for Jacob Fatu. And I’m talking professionally speaking. I’m not looking forward to a fist fight. I’m looking to more fines. Maybe a suspension.”
Redmond also chimed in, mentioning that Fatu’s punishment would likely be decided by Adam Pearce and SmackDown General Manager, Nick Aldis.
Jackie Redmond: “The General Managers are going to have a meeting about what happened at the end of Backlash and determine what that punishment will be for Jacob Fatu. He certainly crossed the professional line. Then there is the personal beef with Roman Reigns.” [9:46 onwards]

It has been announced that Roman Reigns will have an acknowledgement ceremony on RAW, and Jacob Fatu will be a part of the same.
Some speculation has been raised that Reigns could look to get Fatu fired from WWE on the red brand. Could it really happen? Or would he face some other setback? Only time will tell.
