Kurt Angle Says He Will Return To WWE; Talked With Triple H Six Weeks Ago

TJR Wrestling

Former WWE Champion Kurt Angle was recently a guest on Mark Madden’s talk-show on 105.9 The X. During the interview, Angle was asked whether or not WWE has reached out to him about a return. Angle had this to say in response:

“I did talk to Triple H about six weeks ago. It was a good conversation. We’re in good spirits, we’re on good terms. Will I return? Yes, I don’t know when. They have not contacted me about the brand split. I’m not expecting anything, so if they do contact me, great. If they don’t, that’s fine as well. As far as bringing me back, I don’t know when. I don’t think it’s going to be during the brand split, at least they haven’t called me yet, so we’ll see here in the future. There are a lot of rumors going around, but I’ll put that to rest by telling you that nobody has contacted me about coming back for the brand split.”

Mark’s reaction: It’s more a matter of “when” and not “if” in regards to Angle’s WWE return. He could still surprise us at the WWE Draft on July 19 for all we know. However, even if he doesn’t, it’s nice to know that according to Angle it’s a done deal and only a matter of time. I’m really looking forward to his return and I think he still has a lot of value to add to WWE. He can still hold his own in the ring and can also play the role of a mentor to other talents, such as American Alpha.
