Tony Khan Blasts WWE As Evil Juggernaut, Compares Them To Harvey Weinstein

Tony Khan AEW Neckbrace

Tony Khan had some harsh comments about WWE while also wearing a neckbrace to promote his AEW product.

It has been an eventful couple of days for AEW’s Owner, CEO & GM Tony Khan after he was punched in the gut by Jack Perry in the main event of Dynamite. That gut punch (with a microphone) was just the start of it because Khan also took a TK Driver, which was formerly known as a Meltzer Driver, which is an assisted piledriver.

In addition to owning and running AEW, Tony’s father Shad Khan owns the NFL’s Jacksonville Jaguars with Tony for the team in an Executive role. That meant that Tony was right by his father as the NFL Draft took place on Thursday night.

While seated in the Jacksonville Jaguars office, Tony Khan appeared on camera wearing a neckbrace while his father laughed about it in the background.

On Friday, just hours before Day 2 of the NFL Draft, Tony Khan put the neckbrace on again to talk to Mike Garafolo and Steve Wyche of NFL Network. While Khan plugged AEW programming heavily, he also took some shots at WWE as well.

“AEW, we’ve been doing this for five years, we are the most successful sports start up since the AFL, pre-merger. There has not been a challenger brand that has gained as much market share as AEW in many many years. We are like the Pepsi of pro wrestling. We’re up against an evil juggernaut. WWE is our competitor, that’s who we’re facing.”

“AEW, like the Pepsi of pro wrestling. WWE is like the Harvey Weinstein of pro wrestling. I’m really proud of what we do down here.”

When Khan made the Weinstein line, it was clear the hosts were uncomfortable and wanted to move on. When they asked Tony about the Jags’ plans for the rest of the NFL Draft, he said he can’t give anything away.

Also in the interview, Khan remarked that you had to watch AEW programming to find out how he is doing.

The Young Bucks Mocked Tony Khan After In-Ring Altercation

After they gave Tony Khan a TK Driver (spike piledriver) on AEW Dynamite, The Young Bucks – Matthew & Nicholas Jackson 0 went on social media to mock Khan some more. The Bucks did a parody of Khan’s “justified” promotional posts with a unique post of their own.

“Thank you all for watching #AEWDynamite tonight! What a great show that was on @TBSNetwork, with a thrilling ending! Justified “this is awesome” chants at the end! It was an exciting show on the road to #AEWDoubleOrNothing tonight on TBS, thank you all for watching!”

AEW presents Collision from Jacksonville on Saturday night on TNT followed by Rampage right after for a three-hour block of new content.
