Kevin Owens has a WWE Hall of Famer in mind as a potential future opponent.

At WrestleMania 40, Kevin Owens competed in a triple threat match for the US Title held by Logan Paul in a match that also included future WWE Hall of Famer Randy Orton. Paul got the win in that match after tossing Orton out of the ring after Orton hit Owens with an RKO and Paul hit a top rope Frog Splash on Owens to win.

While that match was big since it involved a championship, it really couldn’t compare to the previous two WrestleManias for Owens. At WrestleMania 38 in 2022, Owens main evented WrestleMania Saturday by having an entertaining match with his wrestling idol “Stone Cold” Steve Austin, who beat Owens in Austin’s first match in 19 years.

One year later at WrestleMania 39 in Los Angeles, Kevin Owens and best friend Sami Zayn beat The Usos to become the WWE Tag Team Champions. That match also main evented WrestleMania Saturday and it was the the first time that the Tag Team TItles main evented a WrestleMania. It was also an incredible match that fans will never forget.

During an appearance on Busted Open Radio, Owens mentioned Rey Mysterio as a singles match opponent that he wants to face.

“I’ve never had a singles match against Rey Mysterio. If I have another WrestleMania in me, I’d love to wrestle Finn Balor there. But as far as just goals, I think I’ve had it so good; I really can’t ask for more.”

“Sami and I had our first WrestleMania together in a ladder match as opponents. Two years later, we were teaming against Shane McMahon and Daniel Bryan,” Owens said. “Then we got a singles match a few years later, and I was like ‘It’s not gonna get any better than that.’ And then it did last year.”

“I used to be so obsessed with just wanting to do more. And a lot of that made it so that I wouldn’t enjoy it. Teaming with Jericho for all those months and the story we had was so incredible, but in that moment, I didn’t enjoy it like I should have.”

Kevin Owens Comes Up Short On WWE SmackDown

While Kevin Owens still wants that singles match with Rey Mysterio, they were part of the same triple threat match with AJ Styles in the main event of Smackdown in Detroit. That match was won by Styles, who gave Mysterio a Styles Clash onto Owens, who was out on the mat. Styles pinned Rey to get the win.
