AEW Bring In Another Executive

Tony Khan AEW

AEW has a new Director.

As reported by Sean Ross Sapp via Fightful Select AEW has hired Jeremy Flynn to work as Director of Live Events.

Rafael Morffi held the title of Vice President of Live Events/Touring from June 2019 to December 2023 when he left to take up a position at the Barclays Center. Morffi has publicly endorsed Flynn after he landed the new role.

Following his exit, many of Morffi’s duties had been picked up by Kosha Irby who began working with AEW in January, even if their appointment wasn’t confirmed until March.

AEW Making Positive Backstage Changes

The appointment of Flynn comes a month after AEW unveiled Kosha Irby as Chief Operating Officer.

This was followed by a report which stated Irby was taking a very different approach to live events compared to Morffi. Furthermore, several figures within the company were excited about the changes being made.

There’s been unanimous praise for Irby since joining the company.

Meanwhile, at least in storyline, company President Tony Khan will be taking a break from life on the road.

Khan was attacked by The Young Bucks on the April 24th episode of Dynamite and left laid out in the middle of the ring. In an update on Collision, Tony Schiavone said Khan “has suffered multiple head and neck injuries,” and would be running the company remotely for the time being.
