AEW Star Believes That Getting Suspended Helped His Career

AEW Max Caster Sammy Guevara Shake

A controversial AEW wrestler who has been suspended in the past admits that the company’s disciplinary actions did help him.

There have been several wrestlers who work for All Elite Wrestling that have been suspended during the five years of the company. Whether it’s The Elite guys fighting CM Punk in a locker room or Sammy Guevara for being unprofessional in a match with Jeff Hardy, it’s part of pro wrestling to discipline people who do the wrong thing.

Another wrestler who has been suspended by AEW is Max Caster of The Acclaimed tag team with Anthony Bowens. During his run with All Elite Wrestling, Caster is a former Tag Team Champion with Bowens at a time when The Acclaimed were the hottest act in the company and also a Trios Tag Team Champion with Bowens & “Daddy Ass” Billy Gunn.

Caster was suspended by AEW in August 2021 due to one of his controversial raps. During his entrances on AEW television, Caster is known for rapping about whatever is on his mind and oftentimes is topical. However, Caster went a bit too far on one occasion when he rapped about Simone Biles’ mental health, Duke Lacrosse rape allegations, and fake PCR tests among other things.

During an appearance on fellow AEW wrestler Isiah Kassidy’s YouTube channel, Caster said his suspension made him angry.

“Sitting at home for three or four weeks, it just makes you angry, honestly. Whether or not what I said was right or wrong, still angry. I want to be at work. I want to be wrestling.”

“We had just gotten out of Daily’s Place, and we had just gotten on the road, so we’re hitting these cities, and it’s cool, going out a little bit. Then it’s like, ‘Yeah, you did this thing, you gotta stay home.’ I understand, I understand why. I understand what I said that caused that, but yeah, you’re just angry sitting at home, honestly.”

Max Caster Thinks That AEW Suspension Was Beneficial For His Career

As the discussion continued, Caster admitted that the suspension helped his career and that he isn’t sure if he regrets what he said.

“I don’t know if I regret it. That kind of helped my career, more than anything, believe it or not. Again, right or wrong, helped The Acclaimed and it helped me a lot, and it gave me a reputation, and one that I like to live up [laughs].”

In recent days, Max Caster tweeted that he was suspended by All Elite Wrestling due to more controversial comments. However, he just did that as a joke on social media since he appeared on AEW Collision in tag team action as The Acclaimed picked up a win over the Grizzled Young Veterans.
