If you watch WWE’s 205 Live show regularly on Tuesday nights on WWE Network then you may have noticed some changes in the last few weeks. The show is currently running a tournament where they plan to crown a new Cruiserweight Champion at WrestleMania on April 8. The 205 Live show also introduced Drake Maverick (formerly Rockstar Spud) as the General Manager to help guide the show in a new direction.

There is also some behind the scenes news about 205 Live with PWInsider reporting that Vince McMahon is no longer putting together 205 Live every week. Who is running the show in his place? Triple H, who also oversees NXT and works with Vince on the main roster shows. The report from Mike Johnson notes that when Vince McMahon was running the show, they tried to focus on the personalities of the 205 Live and present them in the way Vince wanted. However, in the last two weeks since Triple H has stepped up as the man in charge, 205 Live has featured the in-ring action more and made the show more about the competition of the cruiserweight talent.

The decision was made to put Triple H in charge two weeks ago as a way to reboot the cruiserweight division. Johnson noted that Triple H is the one making the final decisions just like he does in NXT. The report also notes that Jonathan Baeckstrom is the lead writer for 205 Live and he’s been a part of WWE since August 2013 while moving to a lead writer role in November 2016. Adam Pearce, a former wrestler, is the lead Producer for 205 Live meaning he helps to put together the matches.
