Report: NXT’s Sylvester Lefort and Marcus Louis Released By WWE

TJR Wrestling

It appears that WWE NXT Superstars Marcus Lois and Sylvester Lefort have been released by World Wrestling Entertainment. This news comes at the same time Bull Dempsey announced his departure from the company on Twitter.

Louis and Lefort teamed together as The Legionnaires and will mostly be remembered for their brief feud with Enzo Amore and Colin Cassidy. Their feud led to a Hair vs. Hair match between Lefort and Amore at NXT Takeover: Fatal 4-Way in September 2014. LeFort lost but left his tag partner Louis to be shaved bald instead. After The Legionnaires split up, neither Louis nor Lefort received a lot of television time.

In the same vein as Bull Dempsey, Louis and Lefort were released likely because creative did not have much for either of them. Here’s a tweet from Lefort this morning after the news of all three wrestlers’ departures got out. As you can see, he’s also changed his name on Twitter to his real name, Tom La Ruffa.

All three men have been removed from NXT’s roster on WWE.com.

Mark’s reaction: I can’t say I was the biggest fan of Lefort and Louis. When I read the headline that those two wrestlers were released by the company, I even forgot who they were. Upon reading more about them I do briefly remember them (I guess that shows the impression they left on me).

It seems like NXT is clearing up the roster a bit as more releases are rumored to be announced soon. Although I wasn’t the biggest fan of Dempsey, Lefort or Louis, I never like to see anyone lose their jobs. Good luck to all three men in their wrestling futures!
