Tickets aren’t selling as quickly at WWE WrestleMania 42 as they did a year ago.

When WWE decided to bring WrestleMania 42 to Las Vegas for the second year in a row, they did so while assuming the risk of staging the same event in the same city at the same time of year.

Yes, the name “WrestleMania” sells itself to some WWE fans, but it’s still not something WWE typically does. After all, New Orleans was originally announced as the host of WrestleMania 42, but the company changed its mind and returned to Vegas, as it did in 2025.

There have also been reports that WWE has held emergency meetings to develop ideas to boost interest in WrestleMania 42, which takes place on April 18 and 19 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.

WWE WrestleMania 42 Tickets Selling At A Slower Pace

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter‘s Dave Meltzer, WrestleMania tickets did not sell quickly, even with a 25% discount for four days over Valentine’s Day weekend.

“There has been little new regarding WrestleMania at this point. No new matches have even been hinted at. Ticket sales are actually worse than we had last week. Over Valentine’s Day weekend, all seat prices were cut only for the weekend meaning 2/13 to 2/16. There appeared to be zero movement at the lower prices and in fact, last week’s number was a higher estimate than was the case.”

The most recent report on ticket sales shows that April 18 sold 35,690 tickets, while April 19 sold 36,372. When you combine the numbers, that puts WrestleMania 42 down 19.3% from last year’s pace.

Prices for WrestleMania tickets remain high, with the entry price at $264 for April 18 and $276 for April 19 in Las Vegas.

An anonymous source in WWE, considered a higher-up in the company, had this remark for the Wrestling Observer.

“The audience is there. Are they inclined to pay ten gazillion dollars for tickets?”

To date, only the CM Punk-Roman Reigns match has been confirmed for WrestleMania 42. Punk is defending the World Heavyweight Title against Finn Balor at Elimination Chamber on February 28th, so that match could change, but it appears unlikely.

On Monday, February 23rd, the episode of Raw will feature Women’s Royal Rumble winner Liv Morgan choosing her WrestleMania 42 opponent, likely Stephanie Vaquer. More big matches are expected to be announced soon after the Elimination Chamber on February 28th.
