A new WWE prospect has made his in-ring debut.

Andrzej Hughes-Murray competed in his first match during a live event on August 19th in Tampa, Florida. The future star took on Joe Coffey in a losing effort at the show, but had some positive words on social media despite the loss, saying “it’s only up from here.”

“1st one down. Lessons learned and I’ll be back better. It’s only up from here”

Hughes-Murray is a state champion wrestler and former Los Angeles Rams linebacker. He joined the WWE Performance Center as part of the spring rookie class earlier this year alongside Ezekiel Balogun, Vlad Pavlenko, Hunter Smallback, Coy Wanner, Kevin Robertson, Melanie Brzezinski, Tylynn Register, and Alexis Gray.

The live event also saw Carmelo Hayes defending the NXT Championship against Joe Gacy, Valentina Feroz unsuccessfully challenging Tiffany Stratton for her Women’s Title, and Ava – aka Simone Johnson, daughter of The Rockwinning her first singles match.
