The Rock’s Daughter Ava Wins First WWE Singles Match

History was made for Ava at a WWE Live Event as the daughter of The Rock picked up her first singles match victory.

It was in October 2022 when The Rock’s now 22-year-old daughter Simone Johnson made her WWE NXT debut as Ava Raine as part of the Schism group with Joe Gacy, Rip Fowler and Jagger Reid. Since then, WWE has dropped the “Raine” part of her name and she just goes by Ava now.

As part of Schism, Ava hasn’t wrestled that much on NXT TV. She has mostly kept outside the ring as she likely continues to train in the ring at the WWE Performance Center to improve her skills. Ava signed with WWE in early 2020, has dealt with numerous injuries and is now making a lot of progress.

At a WWE NXT live event in Tampa, Florida last night, Ava made history as she picked up her first singles match win in her career by defeating Ivy Nile.

The fourth-generation star Ava has won a match before on the June 6th edition of NXT. However, that was a six-person tag team match when Schism defeated The Creed Brothers & Ivy Nile in a match where Ava used a mask to headbutt Nile and pin her. That was Ava’s first win in WWE.

The Rock Believes Ava Going Into Wrestling Helped Save Their Relationship

In May of this year, The Rock said that when Ava got into pro wrestling, it really helped his relationship with her while also putting over how important pro wrestling has been for his family.

“I had so much sh*t going on. So, I like to say me and Simone grew up together. We had a relationship where I was always gone, but we tried to keep it together. Now years later as she becomes a pro wrestler, it’s actually brought us closer together. So, in a way, it’s helped save that relationship too. In many ways, pro wrestling has been my family’s savior.”

This coming Tuesday on NXT Heatwave, Ava will be in singles action for the first time on NXT TV against Nile again as she hopes to win her first singles match on television.
