Major WWE Tag Team Reunites With OG El Grande Americano On AAA Debut
The El Grande Americano storyline in AAA Lucha Libre saw a former WWE faction reunite in full glory.
Chad Gable, who calls himself the Original Americano, has been feuding with Ludwig Kaiser’s Americano in AAA Lucha Libre.
A couple of weeks ago, their rivalry cranked the action up a notch when both wrestlers threw hands midway through the show, and it didn’t end until after the main event later that night.
Following his victory over Octagon Jr. on April 11, OG Americano attacked a local comedian seated in the audience and applied his Ankle Lock submission.
Andrea Bazarte, who is the ringside interviewer and Kaiser’s real-life girlfriend, slapped Americano in the hopes that he would relinquish his hold, which he did. However, he then charged at Bazarte.
This led to Kaiser running out as his version of Americano, as both wrestlers punched and pushed each other, forcing security to step in. After being separated, Kaiser challenged OG El Grande Americano for a Mask vs. Mask match at Noche de Los Grandes, scheduled on May 30.
OG El Grande Americano Reunites With The Creed Brothers On AAA
The main event of the May 2 episode of AAA Lucha Libre featured an official contract signing between the two El Grande Americanos.
Kaiser first entered the arena to a loud cheer from the audience; the reception was quite the opposite for Chad Gable. Multiple members of the security staff were stationed in the ring to keep the two masked luchadors from getting physical.
Before they could sign the contract, OG Americano presented a couple of stipulations, which included no physical contact between them until May 30. Should either party attack the other, their match would be called off, and the attacker would be forced to unmask.
He also accused Andrea Bazarte of instigating the feud between the two Americanos, ordering her to be ejected from the arena. Before leaving, she told Kaiser to ensure he beat Gable at Noche de Los Grandes.
After they signed their respective sections in the contract, The Creed Brothers from WWE made their first appearance in AAA and attacked Kaiser’s Americano, following which they put him through the table.
This prompted his allies, Rayo and Bravo, to charge into the ring and fend them off before they could cause more damage.
OG El Grande Americano’s reunion with the Creed Brothers is a callback to their days in the American Made faction, which also included Ivy Nile.
While the faction has not been officially disbanded, the members have not received much in-ring time together.
