WWE Considering Different Options For Survivor Series

With Survivor Series on the horizon, WWE is reportedly considering a few different options as far as the big matches go.

At last year’s Survivor Series event, WWE brought the WarGames match to the main roster for the first time.

From 2017 to 2021, the WarGames match was NXT exclusive. The key thing here is that it was a Triple H idea when he was running NXT. In July 2022, Triple H took over WWE’s main roster as the Chief Content Officer and decided WarGames should be on the main roster.

The two Survivor Series matches featured the women on the Raw brand in one WarGames match while men from Smackdown were in the Men’s WarGames match that main evented the show.

The key story point in the men’s match was Sami Zayn proving his loyalty toward The Bloodline. Two months later, things blew up between Sami and The Bloodline, but at least for that match in the double cage, Zayn was loyal to the group.

WWE still deciding on the format for Survivor Series

This year’s Survivor Series takes place in Chicago at the Allstate Arena on Saturday, November 25th.

It has been reported by Wrestlevotes on X/Twitter that WWE has yet to decide on the official format of the WarGames match at Survivor Series.

“Regarding War Games, I’m told creative within WWE has gone back & forth for a while now on the matchup for Survivor Series. Within the last few weeks the thought was to keep the story only on the RAW side of things, but the sense from a source is that has now changed…”

If WWE were to go back to Raw vs. Smackdown then it would be similar to the past when they did traditional Survivor Series matches between the two brands. On last week’s Smackdown, Raw GM Adam Pearce said the line “let the games begin” to Smackdown GM, which makes some people believe that WarGames between the brands is coming.

Before we get to Survivor Series, WWE has the Crown Jewel PLE on November 4th in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Some of the big matches at that show include Roman Reigns defending the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship against LA Knight and Seth “Freakin” Rollins putting the World Title on the line against Drew McIntyre.
