An ex-WWE Champion has revealed why they retired at the age of 32.

In December 2022, WWE released Mandy Rose after she violated her contract by posting explicit content on her FanTime subscription page. She was reportedly caught off guard, as she was fired without any prior warning, immediately following her NXT Women’s Championship loss to Roxanne Perez.

Mandy Rose recently appeared on Episode 39 of Prince St. Pizza and talked about her WWE release. She confirmed that her wrestling career officially came to an end when WWE let her go in 2022.

It was the end of my career, which is kind of like, you know, I kind of like went out on top, which I always wanted to, but I didn’t suspect that my career was ending.

It was just something that happened, and it ended, but like I said, I was grateful that I had that run because it really increased my equity in the company like 10 fold. (From 12:12)

Mandy stated that she is thankful for her time in WWE, and she was very much shocked by her abrupt release. However, she also felt that the situation had a silver lining, as she did not want to continue wrestling until she was 50 years old.

Mandy Rose Is “Grateful” For Her Time In WWE

Mandy, 35, explained that she loves being healthy and that professional wrestling takes a huge toll on the body. In a way, she is grateful that her WWE retirement came when it did, despite the fact that her release upset her greatly.

There’s a means to an end in wrestling. Like, listen, I love it, and I’m grateful for it, but personally, I don’t want to be like 50 years old, and I can’t get out of bed. Like, I just.. that’s not what I want. Like, I want to be healthy. I’m very much into fitness, and I see some of these guys… Yeah. takes a huge toll on your body. (From 13:39)
