Under-Pushed WWE Star Allegedly Winning 2026 Women’s MITB Briefcase
The WWE Women’s division may be in for a surprise at Money in the Bank.
Former WCW star Disco Inferno has speculated that it could be time for Chelsea Green to win the coveted ladder match that would earn her a championship contract.
Green is a former two-time Women’s United States Champion and the current one-half of the AAA World Mixed Team Champions with Ethan Page.
Speaking on the Keepin’ It 100 podcast, Disco was asked by a user about Chelsea’s position in WWE and whether her outspokenness about simply being booked as opposed to being featured as a top wrestling star was affecting her role.
In reply, Disco likened her situation to his own at WCW, claiming that he was over in the late 90s, too, regardless of how he was booked.
He then said that the 34-year-old superstar’s character arc was showing signs of progress, while predicting she could win the MITB briefcase later this year.
I think the way Chelsea’s arc is going, and the fact that she does very good TV, I’m predicting that she’s gonna win the Money in the Bank so she can have that case and do some TV with that. And I think she’s eventually going to cash in. [1:47 onwards]
Chelsea Green Battles WWE Women’s Champion Jade Cargill On SmackDown
On last week’s SmackDown, Chelsea Green inadvertently struck WWE Women’s Champion Jade Cargill, following the latter’s confrontation with Jordynne Grace.
As a result, a match between the two was set up for the January 23 episode without the title being on the line. Cargill has yet to defend the championship since winning it at Saturday Night’s Main Event XLI.
Green started the match on a positive note by launching herself at Cargill while she engaged in a shouting match with Grace outside the ring.
However, the tables soon turned on her, as The Storm dominated the bout before finishing it with her Jaded finisher.
